Over the past 14 years Kara has personally hand sourced each and every one of the very boutique couture garments from many places throughout New Zealand. The collection is exquisite - the range of colour tones and fabrics of every kind from sparkles, lace, tulle, silks, rhinestone stones….Kara often says to her clients that they could arrive in a knickers and a bra, be dressed in multiple styles for their photoshoot. As 95% of her photoshoots that you will see here on the website, all the woman are wearing garments from Kara’s studio wardrobe. During your design consultation and designing each style, you wil have the option to either bring your clothing, source and hire yourself or hire from Kara’s Couture range. When designing your photoshoot the clothing choice is such an important part for the feel and overall style and result in the photographs. Kara has such an eye for detail and creative vision and perfection that all elements are to come to together. So often we don’t have such couture feminine garments and to source them for a photoshoot would be both time consuming and costly, so Kara has made this gorgeous studio wardrobe, it’s one of a kind, with a couture wardrobe you will very rarely see, if ever, again anywhere

Kara has recently personally renovated this bespoke Villa creating a calm, peaceful sanctuary for her clients to experience being photographed at. The interior is fresh and calming, with an award winning kitchen she personally designed handpicking each detail. The shooting space is breathtaking with a luxurious high ceiling, stunning natural light, a sitting area, makeup area, and her exquisite couture studio wardrobe. There is also a gorgeous pool and surrounding area, and one achre of beautiful grounds to also be taken advantage of to be photographed. The Luxury Studio Villa is great for Personal Photoshoots and can also be booked for Commercial Photoshoots.
Kara also hosts day Retreats creating a wonderful space for Celebrating Connections of People and Exhibiting her Work.

Kara loves the signature retouch process and the additional creativity and uniqueness she can add to each image she feels it is an extention of the photography. And makes them very personal to sitter as no two images are ever the same. With an extensive 20 year background strating with the very special hand developing in the darkroom, to printing photo labs and retouching (being head retoucher for one of Melbournes leading wedding studios) Kara has gained many skills that has resulted in her signature style. Your big Reveal! This is such an exciting and big part of your experience and so often a very emotional one as you may be seeing sides to you, of you, that you have either never seen or may have forgotten. Your reveal / Ordering session can either be done in person (we love) or via zoom. During your Design Consultation we would of booked you for the Package experience you wanted. We will go through your images for you to choose what photographs you love for your package, you are also able to purchase any additional Heirloom Products to the package you may have chosen.

This 75 year old Portrait of my Nana Maragret and Grandad Bruce when they were 17&18 yrs old is one of the reasons my love and passion for photography began.
